On October 16th, I am running my first 5K to raise money and awareness about fistula. I have been training for 7 weeks now and while I am not excited about the early morning runs, I am really passionate about the cause.
Many women in the Congo victims of sexual violence and their injuries are so severe that the require surgery to stop internal bleeding and repair perforated internal organs. My goal is to raise enough money to help one woman get the fistula surgery that will allow her to return some sense of normalcy to her life.
Can you donate $5 to help ease the struggle of these women?
All proceeds go to the The Fistula Foundation, use the above link to donate. The website is secure, fast and easy to use. At the website you will be able to choose an amount to donate and receive email confirmation of your donation. Thanks in advance for your help.

Donations to the Fistula Foundation are tax-deductible.

“If you go into a romantic relationship, it costs you two friends. Those who have romantic relationships, instead of having the typical five ‘core set’ of relationships only have four. And of those, one is the new person who’s come into their life,” said Dunbar.“
